What you will learn:

  • Self-Awareness: Recognise and acknowledge the patterns of co-dependent behaviour. Self-reflection and awareness are crucial in making changes. Understanding your triggers and behaviours is the first step towards change.
  • Set Boundaries: Establish clear boundaries in your relationships. Learn to say no and prioritise your own needs and well-being. It’s important to understand that it’s okay to take care of yourself and your needs.
  • Self-Care: Practice self-care regularly. Engage in activities that bring you joy, relaxation, and fulfilment. Taking care of your physical, emotional, and mental well-being is vital in breaking co-dependent patterns.
  • Develop Independence: Work on developing your own interests, hobbies, and goals that are separate from those of others. Strengthening your sense of self and independence is key to reducing co-dependency.
  • Practice Mindfulness: Mindfulness and meditation can help you stay present and become more aware of your thoughts and feelings, which can assist in breaking co-dependent habits.
  • Seek Healthy Relationships: Surround yourself with supportive, understanding, and emotionally healthy individuals. Healthy relationships can positively influence your own behaviours and mindset.
  • Be Patient with Yourself: Overcoming co-dependency is a process that takes time. Be patient, kind, and compassionate with yourself as you work through these challenges.
